Default End of driving season

Well, I think it's time to end the driving season for my '65 Bonneville and back to my 1.4 TDI Ford Fiesta for the winter. Raining everyday and had to scrape the windows the other day because of frost so not really creating the right atmosphere

Got it inspected late summer but after that it was my daily driver and not a single hickup. Always started and got me to work and back.

Enjoyed every mile and seemed to bring a smile to people's face too.

Where do you live?

It's too soon to be putting stuff away here in the Motor City. 80 degrees and sunny today.

Well actually, in Finland, Europe. Coordinates 65.47459568995419, 28.646706871164074 for those interested in.

Mornings are about 0 to 10 celcius recently and northern part of Finland already got its first snow. Could drive still at least one month but I feel like it's time to garage it. Need to address rear and front suspension: bushes, springs etc. but that's what is good about winter, plenty of time to rebuild stuff.

Still nice and warm in Minnesota, but we may only have a few more weeks...you never know. Some years it will still be mild until the end of November, other years the weather turns by the middle of October.

Not far behind ya on putting stuff away. Rain season is getting close, getting dark earlier so most cruise in are done for the year.
No Heat in car so get's a little cool when late. Already have my winter tires on, LOL, Or should I say end of season tires. 3 inches smaller in diameter
so easier to find the rpm. LMAO. Black lines Matter.

I usually make it to the end of November / early December before calling it quits.

Hopefully winter is short.

My season ended early not for weather reasons but because my clutch is at the end of it’s life. Although the smoke from the California wildfires makes people just want to stay inside here in Reno anyway right now.

During Hot August Nights I noticed I couldn’t put the car in reverse without a minor “clunk” from the tranny. I slid under and adjusted the rod several times until it was nearly at it’s maximum adjustment, but still “clunk”.

That’s my sign it’s time to yank the 350 and drop in the new 455. Everything in the driveline will be new from the fan to the rear end. Should be an exciting winter project!

My driving season is just about to start. Weather is cooling off with highs only in the low to mid 90s. Now, I just have to get the trim put back on my GTO and I will be ready to go!

Finland is pretty much the North Pole. Drove the 68 GTO the least this year, of all years since 1981.

My season ends when the salt trucks make their appearance. Until then, run 'em..
