Rockwell City is a small town, only 2,240 people today. In towns like that the local garage did a lot of things - repair old cars, pump gas, sell fuel oil, and then maybe they also sold a few new cars a year too. I checked Google maps and Leist Oil company is still there.

Limelight Green originally!

Looks like it was bought/paid in cash?

My grandmother lived in a rural area and bought all of her new Pontiacs from the SOHIO gas station across the street which had a 1 car showroom in the office.

My 69 Executive Sedan was sold new by a similarly named dealer in South Dakota. The dealership is long gone but the building is there on Google Maps. Looks like a farm equipment repair garage and you can still see the concrete foundations that probably supported the bulk fuel tanks in back.

That GTO is a 3 speed manual car, also special order axle, probably a 3.08 by the absence of HD cooling option and the fact that the Safe-T-Track is the non HD 2 pinion. Also funny that the car has manual steering and brakes but an 8 track player. Someone had different priorities than the average car buyer.

Cool car. Would be nice to see it returned to it's original Limelight Green.
