Default What’s this ring from

So putting car back together and was under the car installing shift linkage headers etc…this ring fell to the ground
For some reason I think it’s from the Speedo cable but I have nothing else on the cable ?…what am I missing here…..

That looks like the spring clip that holds the speedometer cable grommet to the firewall.

Hmmm pretty sure there is no grommet on my cable may have fallen off during moving from paint shop to home.....I'll have to go double check ....
