Per the Wallace Racing site:

CM is the code for 3.42 posi in 1972.

The G is the plant code = Detroit Gear and Axle

252 is the day of the year

1 is the day shift

W is the posi source, which is Warren/Warner Motive

I haven't seen a Warren Posi in over 30 years.
Almost every 72 I have had / has a Gear and axle posi ( Eaton semi copy)
