There’s a difference when talking Tempest Series.

64-65 handles are thicker and very difficult to find in NOS or nice used.

66-67 handles are thinner and can be found, as there are a set of NOS on auction now.

Most people think all the above years are the same because the two styles will mount to all 4 years.

When parked side by side as my GTO’s are you can see the difference, but especially when you grab both handles at the same time there’s a noticeable difference.

I’m sure many restorations of 64-65 cars have 66-67 handles on them.

Good info. I replaced a lot of parts on my 64 over the years and can't recall exactly what and when. A quick check shows I still have the thicker ones shown in your comparison pics...

I bought an NOS '64 handle new in box for $20 at Turlock 15 years ago and installed it on my '67. about a year ago I noticed it was thicker than the passenger side handle, but the same as the handles on my '65. I prefer the thick handles, and you can't tell the difference unless you get down and squint at it. I'm leaving it where it is!!

Partial part number, last 2 or 3 digits, is cast on the handle on inside of the small end of 64-65s. I don't know about 66-67. You can see IF the handle is not mounted..
