Default 1998 Trans Am convertible top repair tips?

I have a 1998 Trans Am convertible top that's starting to crack where it folds. Rather than replace the entire top, has anyone done a repair to their top with some canvas / vinyl placed underneath the crack and then used Crazy Glue or similar to keep it from leaking?

My top is the headliner insulated one, and it's white, with the heated/defroster equipped rear glass if that makes a difference.

If you have any experience with this, let me know what you did that worked for you, ok?

Thanks much!
