Nodular 8.2, Safe t Track 3.36 geared complete diff current values?
Hi everyone, there is a very clean first gen firebird Nodular 8.2 (yeah with the big N casting) , with what I think are 3.36 gears and safe t track sitting under my 73 firebird. The previous owner cut the spring perches and re located them for the 70-81 F body spring width. (clean job)
It been under the car since I purchased the car in California back in 2009 and I have driven the car very little since ( I know its a shame but I have too many toys I guess ) The car has a rebuilt and warmed up 350P with 670 heads and Th350. Its a fun little street performer and would light up the tires easily. That said I have a Mondello built 461 on the stand with a Jakeshoe TH400 and Continental converter going in the 73 bird this winter along with a 200 nitrous shot. So I doubt the 8.2 even Nodular and 4 pinion will appreciate the extra torque.of the 461 and nitrous and slicks. I can always put the 8.2 Nodular under my daughter's '80 Camaro ( 406 sbc & 2.88 first BW Super T-10 ) , she has a peg leg 8.5 2.56 gear a the moment. But I think this diff would be of great help for a Pontiac fellow whos building a 68 bird and searching for a correct Nodular 8.2 4 pinion rear , I know those differentials are hard to come by. So depending of the current value of the diff I may sell it instead of letting my daughter grind her teeth on it in the Camaro. Let me know what you think , thanks ! |
