I had a 3" main 4" stroke Pontiac journal billet made when Pontiac Dude had some done by Ohio Crank years ago. Going to get topped with my RAIV heads some day.

So if Scat is already making the 4" stroke 3" main 2.2 forged cranks what's this post about?

Simple, another source for this crank as Scat is frequently backordered on it/doesn't have them available plus a connecting rod option for the 4" stroke and 4.21" stroke BBC journal cranks to use off the shelf Pontiac pistons.

Everything is frequently back ordered right now LOL

I don't see that going away until at least the next election.

alot of people get complacent when they see things available you kinda think they always will be available, i know i do, you have to get when the gettin is good

I would definitely be interested. I want to build a 433 for my ‘70 Trans Am using the original 400 (and #12 heads).

Scat still makes a forged 4" stroke, 3" main crank. I just bought one from them direct three weeks ago. Part #4-400P-4000-6700-2200. $1,049 out the door. They had 3 in stock at the time. I'm building a 4" stroke Ram Air IV. It will need a custom dished piston anyway, but I chose to go with a 6.7" rod.

Thank you everybody who participated and voted! At the moment, I do not have a answer if this is going to happen or not. I atleast hope the rods go in production as a minimum which will benefit both views. When speaking with the individual, I originally requested a 2.25 rod journal so I could use some of the stuff I already own. I certainly understand this gentleman's opinion and business sense and what will sell and be profitable/worthwhile.

Again, thank you all!! I certainly learned a few things and hopefully others did as well.

I’m a bit late to the party, but I am absolutely interested in a 4” crank for a 3” main block. I’m about to pull the RA III engine out of my ‘70 T/A and build a 4” stroker for it.

Call Molnar Technologies at (616) 940-4640 to order one. They are a good 8 months out from being on hand.

John, as much as I appreciate all of your work I’m going to have to put off ordering a crank from Molnar. Was at my orthopedist last Thursday. My left knee is totally gone; I really can’t even walk expect for a few steps at a time. Total knee replacement is going to be sooner rather than later, which means the accompanying co-pays.

Very sorry to hear that!! I'm hoping to make it to 55 before I get mine replaced myself.

I’ll be sixty in December. Right knee was “rebuilt” in 1999. Haven’t had a problem with it since. Left knee was pretty much destroyed in a fall off of a floor joist on to an 18” crawl space under my late uncle and aunt’s house. I’m 6’7”; there is way more than 18” between my knee and my heel. Fractured the ends of the femur and tibia, destroyed the meniscus and dislocated the knee cap, which is nearly eaten up with arthritis. Had surgery in March, 2021 to get me though until I qualified for a replacement. The surgery failed, but it was a 50/50 gamble. Damn Medicare!!
