Need some help!! Have a 74 Firebird Espirit 350 4 speed car that is smashed in the front left side. Have all the pieces to repair, but am making this car look like a 350 Formula. My question is: when I put the formula hood on, can I use the original steel hood springs or am I asking for trouble? The Formula hood feels as heavy as the stock steel one. Any help would be great!

I've seen it done before with no ill effects. You shouldn't have any problems.

i have a 75 bird that i did the same thing you want to do, if it's the same hood as mine there won't be any problem. my hood is steel with fiberglass over
it and it's the same weight.
