Arrow 1971 GTO 400/automatic with 3:55 Posi for sale - 91,850 miles UNRESTORED

1971 Castillian Bronze over Sandalwood GTO. 400/automatic with 3:55 Posi, complete numbers matching front to back top to bottom. This is an UNRESTORED 91,850 mile car that has full maintenance, mileage and ownership history back to day 1!

PHS documentation lists:

TURB/HYD
G70X14-WL-FG
CONSOLE-FRT
PWR STRG-VAR
GAUGE-TACH
SAFE-T-TRACK
RADIO-P/B
WHLS-RALLY 2
PWR BRK-DISC

Everything works including the dome light, heater, fan/defroster, gauges, tach, speedometer, lights, blinkers, and wipers. Car starts easily, idles nicely and drives beautifully - the trans shifts firmly and the motor is very strong! The originality of the car is striking – panel gaps and finish work are correct and imperfect. Every panel and trim piece are original to the car and show a patina that cannot be duplicated. The car has the usual garage and parking lot marks you would expect in an unrestored 38 year old car but has none (read NONE) of the rust you would expect in a car from the Northeast – it is completely RUST FREE!

This has been a Connecticut car all of it’s life, and has been well maintained and cared for. Documentation includes warranty booklet and protecto plate, owner’s guide, original carbon copies of warranty slips, service records, and a time line prepared by the second owner listing all documentation, maintenance and mileage. To be perfect it would need paint, a new dash pad, carpet and maybe a few other odds and ends, but I think that would ruin it. First $15,000 takes it, or best reasonable offer with trades considered. PM or contact via e-mail thebosspontiac@hotmail.com .

AM Radio is currently disconnected although it still lights with the dash lights - Pioneer Super tuner pullout is in the glove box. I've got an extra glove box liner if you ever want to go back to stock.

I've had several really nice trade offers, however I'd really prefer a cash sale - there's another car which has been offered to me that I'd like to pick up.

I wish I wasn't in the middle of putting a down payment on a house, I like the car. I am looking for something like this for my daughters first car. LOL I know, call me stupid.

Chris,

Put a few miles on her today? Must have been a nice day..finally!

How did it drive?

Whats the underside look like, and have you had it up on a lift?

Has the eng and/or trans been out of the car ever that you know?

Based on look of the eng compartment do you think eng is virgin? Never been out?
Thanks....
Jeff

Went out for a drive after dinner - it drives and rides like a dream!

Spent a little time in the afternoon cleaning up the interior a little bit, getting finger prints off door panels and steering wheel - you know, the years of use. It's been so lousy here - 16 out of the last 21 days were rain, I just had to take it out. Light mist in the air by the time I got home, almost put the wipers on, but didn't need to.

I'll try to get it on a lift this week and get some pictures. I crawled all over the underside and couldn't find any rust. I don't think the motor or trans have been out - no mention of it in the service history. The motor looks to have been repainted at some point - but just to clean it up.

The timing chain was replaced 02/20/79.

Question 'scuse please...

I didn't think the grills were black on anything but Judges that year? My '71 ragtop had chrome grills that were my favorite part of the car. Just curious. Good luck with the sale. Ron

They aren't supposed to be black. I've got a set of chrome ones coming that will be in there soon.

If it sits around here much longer a Ram Air setup will find it's way in there.

Ahhhh, but therein lies the problem.....the longer I have it, the more detailing I do, and the price/value goes up.

Correct grills will be in today, should have the dash pad in a week or two.

creating a vicious circle since as the price goes up - the longer you'll have it......

that car would have sold 3 times 2 years ago. It is torture to look but not afford
this economy is pulling my hobby from me, and this car is an example.
Let's see the underside and with the detailing
