Sweet car, should do well. Best of luck to you. Around 1986 or so I let a lady in Newport News Va. know I wanted her Liberty Blue Judge if she ever wanted to sell it. Several months later she did, for $800. Not to me, though.

Well it bid 40k (during a commercial no less) and I didn't sell with the 7 % commission. It seemed like it was going higher but after he asked me how low I was prepared to drop my reserve and I said "let's let it ride and see what happens" they dropped the hammer. Oh well, headed home tomorrow.
If somebody wants a really well done car, ill take the 40K. I have every receipt from the resto as well as all the pictures of the build.

40k buys it.

Jimmy, see my remarks in the other thread. I just don't see the justification in the difference in the price of the silver car and your car. Over DOUBLE?? I just don't understand. Wish I had the cash.

I don't understand it. Maybe I should have shown mine and had it judged? I don't know. I can't imagine anything I could have done better.......except swap in a 4-speed. I believe if it had a 4-speed even thou it wouldn't have been original, I think it would have brought good money. Nobody wanted an automatic.
The 69 that brought 43k had a cheap radio, no detail work, no documents or pictures. A very average driver at best. Mine had the correct over spray inside the wheels, correct valves stems etc......... I just don't get it.

My thinkin is, and this is just opinion, that we are nobody's and the guy who had my car had 8 cars run through so he probably had a little pull to have them run the bidding up. He has a big collection and lives 20 minutes from indy and is there every year and has bought many cars there. Plus i think the 4 spd makes a big difference too.

Agree with Notime's suggestion about auction house 'playing favorites' to help the bidding and even banging the gavel too quick when a 'friend' wants a particular car. Def happened to a Shelby owner(seller) last Jan at BJ.
Pays to have friends in high places. Agree with all on this thread that its a great Judge. Despite everything, GLWS!

That is a great car. Put a 4-speed in it,and it will do 15k more, and it will sell. Nobody wants an automatic muscle car.

Mine was during a commercial and it wasn't up there very long. It was very strange....the guy right behind me had the same experience. Once he said he didn't want to drop his reserve, they rolled his out too.

Do they guarantee a minimum length of time on the auction block? it sux to get the bum's rush when you've put the time, money & effort to make their event a success by bringing your quality car out there.
