Default New ways to lose a race

This year I have learned a few more ways to loose a race.

Trans blanket got pinched behind the trans brake solenoid, which stopped it from engaging.

Never try and reposition your foot on the gas pedal at half track

Always make sure you have the right times in your delay box (.839 light)

Pay attention to when they call round winners back

The main thing is to try and not repeat them!

I was racing Badgto(Keith). Got to about half track when the weld holding the steering wheel on broke. I lifted and threw the steering wheel into the passenger side. Grabbed the shaft to see if I could steer it and limped it back to the pits. I had to race the next day so I drove home and returned with my welder about 2:00 am and zapped it back on.

Don't get me started. Winning in drag racing is all about not throwing it away.

Quoted for truth. You never know what is going to unexpectedly and mysteriously pop up to keep you out of the next round.

Goin sideways thru the lights is a bad way to scrub off time when you think your ahead too much... my lesson was dont spike the brake and lift throttle at same time... he made the stripe before me... I didnt tear anything up...

pushin the tree has been my most often way to lose...

biggest disappointment was missing final round because my starter locked up solid with no warning... One of those days where my opponents beat themselves with redlights or break-outs and I was stupid lucky... at least got round money.

Feel your pain. Had a few events myself this year. Not proud moments. Best was the fuel pump relay catching fire in the drivers compartment....

Rob is now on the couch for the remainder of the week..lol. It seems as though I can drive way better in the stands than on the track.

As far as the side ways stripe dance, it seems the anti roll bar fixed that. Still can't figure out why the brain tells the foot to shove the brake pedal through the firewall sometimes though.

You just can't take the stripe by 5-6 cars in the 1/4 and 2-3 in the 1/8th...

Never assume you have enough fuel in the tank.

When your time run(s) are in the afternoon and eliminations are in the evening, doesn't always work that way, and we'll leave it at that....

Here is my remedy for giving them away.....

Last season was the worst I've ever had in giving races away early!!
More freakin red lights in the 1st or 2nd rounds than I have fingers and toes on both hands and feet..
Just HORRIBLE!

So, at the end of the season, I gathered up all my time slips from the entire season, went out back, lit a fire in our fire pit, and sent up a Burnt Offering to the drag racing gods of all my season's time slips.... What a bright light that fire was for a minute or two..

This season was been much better to the tune of winning my class at Island in July and actually making it to the Street Class Finals at Norwalk on Sunday this year..

Ok, can see the reason for a 10'th or 2-3.
If like most women, doesn't look anywhere but whats in front
