The Firebird Formula is still for sale. Any interest? I'm curious what the thoughts are from others. IMHO, I priced it fairly for the work done and parts going with the car. I'd even consider a reduction in price to keep the new wheels/tires and current carb. The original items would go back on. I've had quite a bit of calls/interest/picture requests and so on but not one person showed. What's the consensus of the other Pontiac guys. Thanks

I'll give you my two bits which is worth little to nothing I just went through a similar dilemma on a 72 F400 with rust repair needed. With a car needing rust repair, I believe one needs to find a buyer who can weld body stuff. The math for someone like me who can't gets costly. And it can unfold into more than bargained, so some shy away due to this stuff. Second point is unfinished project cars go at 50% value at best it seems. People just don't want to pay what they are worth. Third, (and I faced this) is one must take "money spent" and throw that number out the window. At best, one with a project car (I was) will do damage control and get some $ back. Often parting the car nets more $$ than intact, I can vouch for that in a couple of recent years cases personally. It sucks and is wrong, and cars disappear which should not.

That is my two bits, probably not music to the ears... I wish you best. I am looking for a 71-73 F400 4 speed and would look at a very nice high option 74, but I am too old and lazy to get into metal work project cars. And the math is tough, as said. Good luck, it IS a great car and worthy of love.

I agree on some points and have seen it first hand. I've considered other options with the car like lowering the price and keeping the engine, of course the original would go with. One guy seemed pretty hot on that idea but like most that inquire more seriously, no show. I've been in, around and through this car. The rust issues it has does not bother me, so to say but I've had it almost 20 years now and it passes Pa state inspection yearly. My next step is keep driving it and slowly restore it and keep it. I had not been in the seat for 10 years and it does not give the same thrill as it once did. I do prefer a bodies more when it comes down to it. I may learn to love it if the right deal does not come through. Thanks for the advice. We may have crossed patches many years ago when you were doing the first version of the repro ram air cleaner. I was helping you try to move those. You may not be the same guy or remember.

Adding to what Bird72 said, I would recommend close ups of the rust and let the buyer decide. Your pictures seem to be too distant to provide any real feel for the cars true condition. It is a neat car and it will happen, just be patient.

I've sent detailed pictures to anyone that asks. I can only load singles via my cell. I have all those areas pictured. I may take new pictures but again with my cell what you see is the best this far. Outwardly looking at the car the issues are in front of the rear wheels where the quarter meets the rocker. Rockers are solid, it's the meeting point that's getting bad. The rear body panel is the lower half that commonly goes. Thanks for the advice. I do appreciate all of it.

Car is still available. SD performance, Intake work should be done soon, new Pa inspection and a few other things should be done by the end of October. Ask any questions or schedule to come see it in person.

Back a couple weeks ago from getting new inspection. Exhaust leaks at the clamp joints were now welded and band clamps were installed elsewhere. New SD performance factory intake installed. Stored away for now but I'm not opposed to show anyone the car. Still for sale.

Is this a PHS R/A car? Anyway...don't get discouraged...you have a nice ride. I'm in the "if I had the bucks" category. Best of luck! Price is not out of line...just lots of folks giving their cars away nowadays.
