Default 69 400 4spd heads

I curious what heads belong on a 69 Firebird 400 4spd. The car is a base 400 not and HO. The reason I ask is the car has 62 heads on it. The heads are dated k118, k148. The intake is dated K128. The car is a 12B car.

Thanks Dave

If you owned a 69 400 4spd, what heads were on it? Especially if you bought it new.

I once had a Palladium Silver/black vinyl top/black std interior '69 4-speed 400 factory air-conditioned coupe with the numbers-matching original drivetrain still intact, it was wearing #62 heads on the 330 HP standard 400 engine.

Most people believe 48's belong on all 69 400 4spd birds. Perhaps because a GTO was that way?

I can't speak for GTO, but as I have always understood it, on '69 Firedbird 400's the WZ (manual) was equipped with 62's and matched with the 067 cam. The 48 was matched to the 068 to account for the decreased chamber size and thus higher compression (again, manual cars).
