Thumbs up An old friend going to new pastures

So this old Dodge was owned by a long time friend and business associate. He passed away just on 3 years ago and while his family said they would never sell the car, commonsense has risen to the fore and its going up for sale.

The "blurb" about it is absolutely true. Jeff's mother bought this car brand new and it has never left the family. After 20 years of use, it was stored away in a very dry shed, Jeff had it recommissioned about 20 years ago and used it sparingly. I seriously doubt if it has spent more than 15 nights outside.

I drove it several times before Jeff passed when he was not well enough to drive himself. Just a lovely old bus, ran along the highway quietly and smoothly.

Time for it to find a new home:

Chrysler corporation cars of that era had the most interesting styling, pretty much over the top in most instances.

Some may consider them to be ugly but as the years pass you just have to love how they were truly rolling sculpture. Cars like this were the automotive stylists interpretation of what might inspire car buyers to take the plunge and purchase something special that otherwise would have been just mundane everyday transportation.

I love that car.

My Grandfather had a 1956 Dodge that was similar in several ways as far as the styling went. We ran over a large buried rock,
put a hole in the oil pan, and then tried to get back to the farm 30 miles away. 6 miles short it died for good. It was a great vehicle
just like your friend's old Dodge. Sorry to hear of his passing some years ago and hope the sale goes to a worthy buyer.

Styling is a personal thing, but given the choice in 1961 between that 4dr Mopar or a '61 Ventura/Catalina/Bonneville, I'd take the Pontiac hands down.
