Looking for an alternative souce for the little bolts with an "M" marking in them, which hold the R/A pan to the hood for a '69 or '70 RA GTO.

Must have the little "M" & be the same size head...Thanks

They are a short bolt with a course thread so they do not hit the bottom of the hood and have the star washer - the head marking i have seen have dashes, 4 in a circle, blank and the anchor. Inline tube sell them new here is the link $10 bolts and star washers. http://www.inlinetube.com/PDF%20cata...alog%20150.pdf

it is a pdf so it takes a second to load page 12

A lesson learned several years ago:

Ordered a set of those bolts from Ames for a antique gold Judge; bolted them up, swore a lot, repainted hood to remove two dimples caused by the rearmost bolts.

I learned the same lesson years ago - bolt the pan on first with the seal then do the body work on the hood. All the original judges had the same problem - we just never looked that hard. Or cut the seal down to releave all the pressure it causes and they also go away. John

Are they the same as the 71 72 RA pans Roger? I have a bag full of new ones, not sure what markings are on them, if any at all. I may have more than I need for my resto, but I will have to count.

PB, The 71-72 are much smaller and a lot more of them than the 69-70. But, the pans are bigger and more simple (IE no baffles, cables, seals) on the 71-72 as well. I'm not sure I have seen them repopped?

ahh, okay, thanks Mike. The ones I have are NOS ones, and after checking them they have the D marking on the head. I've seen them with no markings and I think ones with an M in them too. Just depended upon the day and what bin they were pulling from.

I've read that 72's had an "s" on them, so are ones for 71's the ones with "d" or what?
