Default Passenger window problems

Not sure if anyone has run into this.
Seems the window glass has some type of
a tab on both ends to ride up and down the
window track. Once they are somehow broken
off the problem starts with the window going up and down.
Any advice?

This is a common problem and happens with both windows. I need to repair my own right window as it's also off the track and binds up.

BE AWARE that rolling the window down after this happens will unlatch the door. I have already had my door swing open in traffic while braking, or turning left because of this.

What happens is the bonding agent that holds the channel to the glass becomes un-bonded and causes the jamming. GMs repair is to replace the window and track to the tune of $700-$1000.

The DIY fix is to get the regular JB weld and mix it and re-bond the glass to the channel and raise the window in the door for 24 hours as it dries to position it and clamp it in place using the window regulator as the clamping force. The DIY repair costs about $5 plus and an hour or so of your time to remove the door panel and clean the surfaces to be bonded together.

The quick dry JB Weld is not recommended for this repair as the bond is not as strong as the regular JB Weld. I hope this helps you with the problem.
