Default Best Exhaust Manifold Gaskets

It's been about 7 years since the accident, and just now getting the car back together. I remember back then I had two sets of exhaust manifold gaskets and they had a small leak.

What are the best exhaust manifold gaskets for a stock 455 with stock exhaust manifolds?

Thanks,
Brandon

...and don't forget the importance of having FLAT and SMOOTH gasket surfaces on both the head and the exhaust manifold.

Remflex have been awesome on every engine we’ve used them on. Our kid’s slant six in his Plymouth has a torque of only 10ft/lbs and seems to be regarded as exceptionally leak prone. Remflex were an instant seal for that car. As others have said you just have to handle them gently until they’re installed.

Your gonn'a laugh, But I called headman headers back when I needed
a solution.
Guy said we use red high temp silicone instead of a gasket on our headers.
I'm talking about head ports, not collectors.

Like joe biden said....''well son of a bitch''.

Been working till I separate them. Don't even scrape off the old sil.
Just add new.

keep looking up and smiling.

I/ve had good luck with original-style embossed steel exhaust gaskets.
