Long time out of the forum .. a lot of things happened and done a lot of progress at my 65 starlight black with parchment red interior convertible .
Just replacing the trunk floor with the Swedish guy Repro floors ..that work very great and all fits now well so I can weld in during the next weekends ..
But during the trunk floor swap I saw how bad my trunk lid panel (that panel behind the convertible top) really is. I know the rust at the top of the panel LH & RH ..but there (outer hinge area water Chanel of the top) ist bad rust out , too.
anyone has this issue too ? How your water Chanel is looking .. ?
I bought a 65 Catalina convertible full panel from a parting car that will save mine ..have to cut out my full panel ..not easy with the trunk lid hinges ..a big issue that will be well think about every step ..

Hi Bjoern, Good to see you on the forums again

To use the Catalina panel, can you drill out the spot welds on the Catalina panel and the same on the Bonneville panel so you can then weld the replacement panel into place?

At least if you can separate out the Catalina panel, you can firstly lay it on top of the Bonneville to test the fit. And by removing the panels it will allow you to properly clean up and prepare the underside to prevent any more rusting problems.

Hi Ian ,) .. thx ..yes that’s the way to go or to replace the full panel with skin and lower section together hm ..still thinking ..
just finished the pre welding work for the LH & RH foot ..after welding it in place I let the center open to have better room to work at the rear window panel section .. and more strength at the floor ..step by step
