Can you mix letters and numbers? We don't have that luxury here

Michigan allows letters and numbers.
UR2SLO is a plate I had at one time.

I like the year of manufacture plates we are allowed in Michigan. I have a nice 1976 Bicentennial plate on my 1976 Firebird.

Personalized Plate Story (aka Seinfeldish DMV experience)

Other interest is music. So about 20 years ago here in Montana, I came up with EATAPCH and went down to DMV to request it. I got this crotchety cranky bastid behind the counter. He leans over and says to me, in front of the crowded room, "I CAN"T TAKE THAT". I say, why? He said it was obscene. By then we had an interested audience watching. I said it means Allman Brothers, Eat A Peach. He tells me it means EAT A PATCH. We wound up arguing, I demanded he turn in the request as I wanted an official denial. Got the plates a month later in the mail.

so is Eat A Patch some 1950's lingo I missed out on? Geezer Porn?
