One easy way to eyeball used covers right off is that the hole for the rod is CLOSE to the middle of engine on a 2bbl carb engine.
And on outside closest to valve cover on a V8. Lots are selling used 22bl choke covers as 4bbl.

Have several dozen original 4 bbl choke boxs. The lined "restamped 8097" version was actually done so by Rochestor Products. Can't say I've seen such a line stamped choke stove on an automatic '70 application & have owned two original '70 YZ engines & examined several others.

2bbl and 67. Had the lever coming out on the firewall side
68 up had the lever on the radiator side It also looks like there was 2 different covers for 67 The 3 67’s on the top row have a different slot where the rod enters. The lower 67 is like the 68up. No wiggle in the opening see the left one it shows up good And a 2bbl lower left for comparison with long rod |

Thanks you for pointing that out! I'm still a rookie and yes it's a 9098 I think I didn't notice that. I better hunt a 0097 and have a nice original. Thank you., either it got swapted out long ago or when I got original car beguile and got back a 1969 428 auto carb. I think it was 7029268. But thank got I found a 7040270
