Default The Hollywood Knights

So I purchase the DVD earlier this week and finally watched it. Now I saw it when it first came out and a few times since, but never noticed until now. The time set for the movie is Halloween night, 1965. They insert an 8 track cartridge into a player (they just became available for autos at that time) and on comes California Dreamin' by The Mamas and Papas. Only problem is, the song wasn't even recorded then, much less released. Oh well, Michelle Pfeiffer is such a cutie...

Yeah, sometimes continuity goes right down the drain with many movies. There's probably even more if you carefully go thru it again.

I got my friend to watch it when it was on regular tv a few years ago, they edited out a lot of the good scenes.

The song California Dreaming was released in December 1965. The movie was supposed to be taking place on Halloween night of ‘65.

The song was released give or take a month later. At the end of the day its only the diehards that notice. Still a great movie, and I knew/know one of the actors Randy Gornel who drove the '65 GTO. He burnt the clutch during filming, and got his ass chewed out because of it. My buddy ended up buying the "Hollywood Knights" car club jacket that Randy wore in the movie, and still has it hung up in his memorabilia room to this day.

Love that film. The one DJ, Bearman , was a DJ at WZZO in Allentown until his passing about 2 years ago. Great voice and a heckof a guy.

My favorite movie. It was Michelle Pfeiffer's film debut.
plas a 1079 Mazda GLC drives by then Nubomb is stuffing the arm in the back of the El Camino.
Don't critique the movie. Just watch it and laugh.

I wasn't bashing the movie. It's just useless trivia stuffed in my brain.

Just to blow your mind further, the movie California Dreaming came out a year earlier than The Hollywood Knights. That's kind of why I remember when the song originally came out as I liked the song and researched it. It was an odd movie that had another cutie Tanya Roberts.
