You can play with lash settings to see what works best for your car/camshaft. I've found thats a nice compromise for everything, valve noise, idle, and performance. (the most important of them all!)
Also that setting seems to hold the best. I readjusted/checked mine at Norwalk and they were all fine, hadn't been checked/done since last fall.

Mid to lower 11's. Based on the video, car needs to be loosened up.

Ya, it doesn't really do much. I hate to kill my streetability though. I disconnected the sway bar last year but no difference and it rode terrible. The rear is jacked up too much to allow much transfer to the rear i think. I am hoping to narrow and tub this winter or early spring to lower it some.

I would be happy with a 11.7-11.8. Solid 11's not barely 11's haha!

Today was to busy. Then just after the Chiefs game started we had to take my daughter to the hospital. She had some kind of allergic reaction and broke out in an itchy rash head-to-toe! Long day, maybe get there tomorrow, if it doesn't rain on me! JD

Switch to an 8"rim 5- 5.5 offset (can't remember what mine are), lower the car back down to a stock height, put on some cal-tracs, good leaf springs, shocks, front springs some 9" slicks, and let the car do the work. It won't kill the streetability whatsoever. You don't need a huge tire to run 11's, you just need the car to transfer and plant the rears.

This is from a 90+degree, humid day at a non-prepped Test and tune.

I've been thinking about going to a glide to try and soften the launch on the car some. The first gear in a 400 is steep and hits the tires hard and I don't want to tub the thing.

The only problem is i like my rims (TTD) and they only make a 3.75 offset (i run a 8.5'' rim). They do make one that is supposed to look the same (TTII Classic) and in multiple offsets but i am skeptical. Might be the cheapest way though.

Put a 2.10 first gear in it.

Other than consistency why soften it?

Well, its alive! Sounds good. Rockers are alittle loud but maybe thats normal? Might ned to set them again? I am not good at setting valves! I think it took me 1-1/2 hours to get them done yesterday granted it has been along time, I used to set them on big diesels all the time but was never really good at it. I could here them abit with me hydraulic in it before too. Might be the thin aluminum valve covers, not sure. Did break in and boy she built up heat quick. Have to adjust the electric fan, i must have spaced it out wrong, its rubbing abit. Timing is set, gonna run it abit more then change the oil and take it for a jont.

Trying a different crankcase/ breather setup too, see how it works. Basically just running one breather and fuel pump vent inside the air cleaner. Still have one open breather on the other cover.

Not going to make the street legal drags tonight but will be there for the races tomorrow. They have some alcohol funnycars and wheelstanders, then a big cruise down the local streets and a big carshow on sunday. Hopeing nothing goes wrong with the car, would love to cruise in s'toon. Has been many years since i have made cruise weekend there.

Hoping for some 11.7's!!

I'm getting old.
I only have a couple of weeks until my funeral.
Consistency on marginal tracks would be why.

Idle is up. Old was around 800 in park, 650-700 in gear and 8-10'' vac. New is 1000 in park and 800 in gear with about 8-9'' vac. It definatly sounds more forceful out the exhaust. Exaust note has also changed when cruising, comes on louder sooner.

I am digging this new cam, sounds awesome. The sound is growing on me. I will try to get some vids and sounds tomorrow. Now comes the question, how much bigger of a cam can i put in? We'll see what this one does.

Haha, and to think i thought my old one was rumpity-rumpity. This new one has the old one beat hands down.

Only downside is the lack of power brakes at times, might need a vac. can. I may just turn the idle up a tad.
