Soon I hope. They are round-robining the street cars now...2 test runs and first round. And they just called the Butler Quick 16.

Well, the red light strikes again. A -.0.049 light. Ran a 11.167 @ 119.69.

On the road home, disappointed in MY performance but thrilled with the consistancy of the car.

Sounds like a great time.

Are you going to make changes or run it as it?

He doesn't seem to be the kind of guy who's going to run it the way it is.
Wish mine was as lite as his.

Hi guys. First off, I want to thank everyone who has offered advice and support during the project. You guys nailed it with the converter change suggestion! Picked up .2 in the 60 foot and .5 in the 1/4!

I do have more goals for this project...I will definitely change the rear. I am looking for a 12 bolt or Ford 9 inch and would like to try at least 3.73 gears if not 3.90's or 4.10's. I would then return the complete existing 3.42 12 bolt back to my '69 Firebird converetible. After that, if it isn't hooking, likely I'll try a set of Caltraks. I was really surprised how well it hooked with the MT 275/60-15 drag radials. I had a pair of 1.588 60's.

I was really surprised how uneventful it was driving the car. When I made my first mid-12 second pass in my Firebird, it was really exciting...my first 1.80 60 foot was a surprising jolt. The Ventura just goes...smooth and straight

This fall, I would like to do the final body work and paint.

Check out Moser Engineering on your rear end. By the time you find a good "core" housing, buy all the parts for it, etc etc, you could spend a few extra bucks and just buy a complete new assembly from them at a fair price and all you have to do is bolt it in.

Shelly,
Tried catching up to you several times this weekend. Almost got to speak to you on Sunday in the staging lanes .. Did get to watch you leave from the starting line. Nice car!!!! I hurt my Auburn posi on Saturdy. Really disapointing. Same motor in my other car, which was lighter and had a better gear, was .6-.7 tenth quicker. I was obviously disapointed, but I had a blast. I really should'nt of brought an untested car to a national event. My carb was so fat off the trailer, I ened up dropping 8 jet sizes on the primaries and 5 on the secondaries before I leaned it out too much. This was my car, if you happened to see it. It was originally purchased in 74 by George Zimmicky, with the blue and white 74 that was running 8;30's.

I ordered a complete new Ford 9" today...35 spline axles, spool and 3.90 gears...plus disc brakes. It will be ready some time next week.

Hopefully will have to to the track agin this month.

The 12 bolt is going back into the Firebird along with a new 428.
