I put the stripes on mine this time around after I put them on the wifes car, so the two sorta match, and I actually like it. Really sets the car off. Mine are the orange decals and stripes and hers are the green. Tried uploading a picture but for some reason it failed out.

That dash pad is NOS also. I told Steve he was pulling it out of the box it had been sitting in since 1984, I didn't want to cry if something happened to it!!

John, Thanks for selling the NOS dash pad to Steve. It sure does look nice. Steve bought a lot of NOS and real nice used pieces for that car.

Rob B, The optional side stripe really does look great on your car(s). I also have the orange stripe kit and thought about putting them on that thin vinyl magnetic sheet cut out the shape of the stripes so I could put them on when I felt like it, or take them off when I wanted. We have our company logo on that stuff to throw on any car door when we are out in the field and they stay put really well even at 80 mph.

Well what happens when you go faster than 80mph??? I know those cars (stock) weren't the fasting things in the world but 80 shouldn't be a problem!

engine turn dash
OK guys made stencil and have 3 set cut out as we speak. Now to fine tune them cutting the holes and indicator lights and they will be finished. I did notice i left a little extra on the outsides of the pieces to fine tune each dash insert when needed... They turned out real nice. When i get some more cut out I'll take them to the sign shop to have the circles perfectly cut out. I think it will be nicer that way.....

Ok guys and girls I sent Dennis 2 sets of the engine turn dash emblems to check them out and what i would need to do to improve on them. I found out the material I have is not the vinyl but the metal stuff so it was a bit difficult to trim them out so I left excess to customize the install.

engine turn replacement dash inserts
Well guys I guess that Dennis must have not liked the one's I hand cut out and sent too him. They were kind of crood cutting them by hand. I will stop buy the sign shop and see if they can laser cut them for the Ventura dash's sometime this week. I know Dennis was real busy with the car and the trip to Norwalk so I understand when you just can't get a minute to do anything. It was alot like that for me the last few yrs in the Air Force. Too much to do and not enough time to get it done in one day LOL.... At least I have the stencil's done now and I hope to get some laser cut in the next few weeks if the new job I interviewed for doesn't work out... Well got to run cya guys

Hi Terry, I have to apologise as I have not been able to do anything on my fun cars recently due to home life and needs there. Got to keep the priorities straight. I was hoping to get back to work on the '74, but that just hasn't happened yet. I'll have more time to devote to later in September (I'm hoping anyway) to work on the dash insert you made for the GTO. Thanks again for the inserts and I promise to report back.

Dash inserts
No probs Dennis,
I know what you mean with the priorities. I've been trying to get a job with Boeing all summer. Applied for 2 positions so far. Didn't get the first one so now awaiting the bad news for the 2nd. My interview was yesterday and I bombed it bad. Nerves took over and couldn't remember nothing.... Just got to hate that but that is the way the ball bounces sometime LOL!! I had to put the roller 455 on hold all summer just for those 2 jobs. I hope to hear back on the interview yesterday soon. We will see how it goes Maybe get back on track.. I think the roller 455 and Richmond 6 speed will be fun in that little car.... cya Terry |

Nice Pics of a 74 GTO
It's been awhile since I got to do anything with the 74, but last week, Barry Kluczyk came over to photograph the car for a potential future article for Hemmings or Musclecar Review magazines. One can only hope. The bummer was I didn't get any time to work on the engine-turn inserts that Terry made for me, but the photo shoot got me re-engaged to git 'er done, so that is my next car related job.
Terry, I will go through me '74 stuff and send you a list of what I have. I think I have factory gauges for the console (nice looking but not sure they work, since we never tried them). Thanks, Dennis |

engine-turn decals
Thanks Dennis,
I've been trying to sell these extra pistons I have for a 455 H.O. but it seems no one is looking for a set. I may just do some trading with you once you have an idea what you want to trade..... On another note that car is straight up beautiful. I just love black cars plus I had a black 74 GTO when I was in high school and I wonder where she got off too after I joined the military. My brother traded it while i was overseas for a toyota pickup that he let the bank take. So I lost all the way around.. If I don't sell the piston/pins by the end of this week I'm pulling them off the for sale listing Sun. I'll find someone willing to make a good trade for them. There is over $900 worth of pistons that I've had people just want for nothing so I'll keep them and trade them off before i give them away.... Let me know how they fit.... laters Terry |

...oh, and thanks for the compliments. The car drove nice for the first time it has been on the road since Steve bought and restored it. They really are nice handling cars and we were hitting 85 mph during the shooting to get away from highway traffic.
Do you have any photo's of your old '74 that your brother stole, I mean, took from you? Dennis |

74 GTO
I have one pic somewhere in a picture book. I would have to hunt for it but i do have at least one. My GTO was originally the fire coral bronze when i got it but it needed to be painted so i painted it black and loved it afterwards. I do miss it but now i have this one it brings back LOL!!
