Default Factory front spoiler?

Maybe I need stronger glasses but I don’t recall Pontiac ever producing a factory front spoiler for A bodies? This morning I happen to notice an article about a stunningly beautiful ‘70 GTO convertible and it’s sporting a very subtle front spoiler. Looks factory but maybe it’s not?

Likely aftermarket. It looks pretty close to one of Randy's spoilers for an early 70's c10.

Isn’t this the Judge spoiler? I have it on a few of my cars but I left it black

It’s not aftermarket, it was a option on the Judge package in 1970.
I put one on my 70 in 1980 or 81 if a recall right.

It's a Judge spoiler painted body color.

Looks damn good!

That front air dam did not come in body color. Painted really makes it pop out.

Right?! If I owned that car I’d be constantly cleaning my own drool off of it, haha. I might have to track down one of those air dams and shoot it in Verdoro green to match my car. I do like the look!

Huh, learn something every day. I didn't know this was an option. It does look really nice, especially body colored.

Man, what a color combination! One beautiful GTO there. The air dam body color was a great idea. Blue is my favorite color and that one is stunning.

I decided to give it a try and ordered a front air dam today. I already have the Verdoro green paint as I’m definitely going with the matching body color. I’ll post pics in a week or two when it’s on.

I also have the black plastic one, but wondering they're being reproduced in metal

Oh and by the way, my research on front air dams indicates that the dams came mostly on RAIII and A/C equipped cars. The obvious implication being that it benefits the cooling system by redirecting air flow.

I think I read a thread awhile ago here on the installation of that front spoiler....i guess its a little tricky getting them to fit good.

I bought a couple 68/9s from "he who shall not be named" years back. It was great quality, lined up fine without any issues, and was 3 times the quality of construction compared to how chinsy the pictures look of that Randy version. I did mine in satin black on my 69, and the one I gave my friend for his 68 we painted body color. (sorry, I can't find a pic of either car, so have to wait til they come back from winter storage)

normally I'm a by the book, factory stock, no aftermarket kind of guy but I was intrigued by the look and appreciate the bolt on, no permanent mods aspect if I did delete it.

That is very interesting in body color. So...who makes the best version for '70 GTOs??

Love to see the PHS invoice copy posted, pictures of the carburetor, undercarriage, & suspension. Likewise the notation of the RA option, very seldom seen on an automatic '70 455 GTO. Color wise, the B/C Bermuda blue looks sharp! Have never seen white or a parchment interior in a '70. Possibly, a custom run by PUI. In a Bermuda blue '70 GTO or LeMans Sport, sandalwood or black are typically what one sees for interior colors.

Rest of the appearance, not happening for me. Bootlegger stance, 7" wheels, park bench spoiler, hood tach, & the much "loved" painted front spoiler, all equates to a thrown together auction "build".

The door gaps bother me. At that camera angle the gaps should be barely noticeable.

I don’t ever have any fun trying to get my gaps just right. Washers, shims, floor jacks, measuring tape, dead blow mallet… I’ve even tried those “+” shaped rubber inserts that the tile floor guys use. I’ll spend hours on doors, fenders and bumpers. Afterwards it really doesn’t look any better than when I started!

Funny, that's why I think it looks awesome!
