Nick has been busy on the floor and now is contemplating smoothing out the firewall. The factory firewall on this car is hideous. There is a big fold right in the center. I think he is going to cut it out and weld in a new flat piece before joining the tunnel back to it.

Nick decided to cut out all of the ugly sheet metal on the firewall and replace it with flat sheet metal. I'll smooth all of it out before we paint it. Also installed the rear ant-roll bar and sent the rear housing off to be powder coated. We sent the fender air extractors out also to be ceramic coated black. It's really starting to get humid around here as you can see from all of the surface rust on everything.

Pretty soon she'll go back on the rotisserie and we'll get to work sanding and epoxy primering the entire car inside and out. Then body and paint. Just have a few more tabs to weld on and some of the front structure to finish.

Default Rear End

Got the rear back from powder coating. Looks sweet. Nick made me an awesome 9" holding fixture.

Well, since Drag Week got cancelled we took some time off to address some much needed home repairs, install Tiger heads on Nick's 86 TA drag car and just take a break. We will fire things back up in November and finish this bad boy. Stay tuned.

Yes, I have the same inserts in my SD Performance heads that arrived about 4 months ago.
Dave does really nice work.

Yes they are Nick. And yes he does Tom. I'll be posting more soon as I'm finishing up my honey do list this week.

You may also want to consider using a ARP2000 stud for your heads, I have them on my race car with hp heads and are working great!

Yeah, I was talking to him about those... I will also most likely end up going that route as well... I did end up going with his Super/Secret Cometic Head Gaskets...

The build looks amazing man.

Should come in around 9:1 and we'll be using pump gas for the street and E85 for the track. Two fuel systems and 2 sets of injectors. Eventually we will run methanol exclusively. The dual fuel system is for Drag Week where we can only run E85 or race gas for the class we are targeting. For regular drag racing like Norwalk and the like, we will run Methanol. Lots to sort out. Finally finished my last honey do project yesterday and we'll be back at it shortly. I'll be posting building of the 4L80E, the engine completion, body and paint work and wiring this monster.

Default Finally back on the Bandit

After Covid reeking havoc on our household, my wife, myself and my son all came down with it. We are finally back in the garage. Fitting panels and fiberglass rear bumper. Then we blew the car apart and put it back on the rotisserie for final floor pan welding and then we're having a wire wheel/sand paper party to strip this thing back down to bare and shoot it with some epoxy primer.

It's been a tough couple of months for us and we're just now feeling up to it. My plan is to have color on it by Late April or early May. Hopefully have it on the track sometime in June. We'll see.

Got any pictures of the oil drain routing for the turbos?
Normal downhill drain or are you using a return pump?
