Just built my engine from block up. How do I figure the horse power on this engine? Thanks, Sally

There are also a couple of software programs (Desktop Dyno is one) that figure it pretty close, or you can take the car to the track, and calculate HP from your MPH.

Tom S - Thanks for the info now tell me where I would have this done!!!!
Brew - your way would be lots more fun, but wouldn't the skill of the driver alter the amount of HP enough not to get a true reading? To tell the truth since I blew the engine with nos last year I'm a little afraid to really push it and be without an engine again. I ditched the nos and went with an 871 BDS blower, which I've never had before. I did have the good sense to go with forged everything this time. I live near Norwalk, Ohio. Do you think they have the dyno to test it there at the track? Thanks, Sally

David! I have purchased parts from KRE and always have had great service. I'm in Wellington which isn't too far away from them. Thank you for the info. Have a great day. Sally

Sally, the MPH is the indicator, not the ET, so even if you're "traction limited", your trap speed should be pretty close to optimal. But putting on the dyno should be plenty of fun, too! Good luck.

the engine dyno is a great tool for breaking the engine in and getting tuning close.Another great thing is to find problems BEFORE you put it in the car.Last engine I had done froze 2 piston pins, would have been really bad if it was found in the car instead of on the dyno.Tom

Brew & Tom S!
Considering the cost of the engine so far I am going to take your "expert advise" and pay a visit to KRE. Crazy as it sounds this car means the world to me. I've had several fast, nice cars, but this one I got to help build inside and out, ground up! Sure has made a difference. There are some really nice TA people out there and both of you fit right in! Thanks!
