Hood tach electrical connection help
I have mounted a new reproduction Pontiac hood tach to my 68. My ignition system consists of a MSD billet Pontiac distributor, blaster 2 coil and MSD6A ignition box. Right now the wires from the hood tach just hang free unconnected. Does anyone know how these wires connect to the MSD6A ignition or coil?
My home e-mail is snakepitt1@aol.com Thanks, Scott

you should see a terminal on the side of the msd box for your tac.You can not hook up any other wires on the coil besides the 2 wires from your box.

Make sure the tach has the ability to take a transistorized signal, which I think the repops do, but double check. You could smoke the hood tach if not.

Maybe this will help you with the tach....I run all MSD ignition, 6AL, Pro billet distributor and a blaster coil....I used an MSD tach adapter. Also check out the MSD website, they have a schematic for almost every configuration. Here is a link. http://www.msdpowersports.com/pdf/frm22049_pn8920.pdf Hope that helps.
