Complete A/C Parts List for a 65 GTO
Has anyone come across a complete and comprehensive parts list which identifies what parts are 'A/C influenced'? I'm in the middle of a frame off on a '65 sports coupe and I'm strongly considering adding a factory A/C system to the rebuild. The main components of the system aren’t trouble it's all the ancillary items that trip you up. A/C impacts the heating, cooling, wiring & ignition, suspension, different radiator support - even affects the dip stick I believe! A comprehensive parts list, not just the manual, would be extremely helpful.

The cheapest way to go is Vintage Air.
You don't have to worry about radiator core support, the right hoses, and stuff like that. Unless your doing a numbers matching show car. |

Complete A/C Parts List for a 65 GTO
Not numbers matching but high end. If I decide to go this direction I will definitely go factory for originality. If anyone has any journal notes, resources or been down this road I would really like to hear from them, thanks. Also would be interested in any nice OEM parts.

What year engine are you running? On the early engines the AC compressor bracket mounted with two special head bolts. That are longer. In 1969 Pontiac changed the bracket mounting to two cast bosses on the side of the head. Vintage Air offers a bracket to mount a Sanden compressor to the late heads.
Go to E-bay Automotive heating and air conditioning and use the search words 1965 GTO. There will return several vendors who offer the correct AC parts.

Complete A/C Parts List for a 65 GTO
Running a '66 389. Thanks for the search info, I'll definitely check them out. What I'm really hoping to uncover is a complete parts list identifying all the ancillary stuff that's effected by the A/C option. For instance, the glass was usually (always?) changed to soft ray when A/C was installed. That kind of stuff.
