RAH, That was your first car?

Wow, how about a little history, options, stories! Any pictures of your second car?

Thanks for sharing those pictures as that is one nice Judge.

A bit of history on the car. A car dealer up the road from us had the car. They dealt in used cars at the time so this was not new when they got it. We knew the owners and heard they had this Judge around. Turned out the owners son was driving it around before they put on the lot. After I heard about and saw the thing around town I begged my dad to help me out in getting this thing. Thanks to dear old dad the Judge never made to the used lot. Rumor had it, the thing was in a wreck before the dealer got it. Didn't matter to me. The options were low. P/S, P/DB, 3.90 rear, Am radio, 4-speed with m-20, and that's about all I can remember from 37 years ago. Bought in 1970. Just a go fast car and it did. The only thing that gave it fits was my buddies '70 Olds 442 with a 455 in it. Everything else it ate. I need to nag my sister for pics of the '72 if she has any. I have one pic of it all trimmed with bows as it was in my buddies wedding. Here's a few more pics of the Judge.

Here are a few of my fathers rides from the early 70's. The 34 Ford had a tripower 421. Oh yeah, that is a little me!

Here's some pics from 1985. Inherited a beater 71 I had to fix up as my first car in '83, 69 Judge was my first car purchase. Still have both though the Judge hasn't moved since '87. Can you guess who the skinny punk with the calculator watch is? Gimme a break, it was 1983, I was 15 and it was my first trip to a junkyard! I needed the watch to add up all the A bodies stacked in heaps there! oh where have those days gone......nothing left in the "antique" section of the yards now except for 1987 chevettes!

LOL! I thought I was the only crazy one to hit the scrap yards in early spring with snow barely melted...

Default 1987

My first car, age 17.... the car and me. 1968 GTO. Picture of my dog Mickey and I. I still have the car and it's been through a frame off restoration, HHP Pavement Pounder shoot out in Commerce Georgia, Pontiac Nationals in Norwalk Ohio, 13.1 sec. in the quarter.... basic 400 with a RAM 4 cam, 4 speed, 3.90, 9.5:1 compression. Had the car for 21 years and love it more now then ever.

Still miss the dog.

That is (was) one beautiful car (color combo)..AMazing how the pics are clear too..your sister must have had a very high end camera and took good care of her pics...One clarification, though, 3.90s could not be ordered with an M20 (even SP ORD)..only with M21 in 69..Unless owner swapped it in??

Bummer.......no pics of the engine area, i wanted to see them too. It wouldn't have been a totally unmolested engine anyhow as I put Hooker Headers, a Holley carb, and Accel ignition on. I did pretty much what was being done at the time. Gabriel Hi-jacker shocks and the like. We screwed with them pretty much. Now I really don't care to see all that stuff on a nice Judge.

gotta love that CB antenna setup had 1 on my 69 too, I had a calculator watch in the mid 80's too but I worked for Texas Instruments and they were very popular at the time.

Febjudge -- good eye!

My 68 had the angled CB antenna off the trunk too. Here's another picture of my 68 about a month later. I call it "Death of a rotbox" If you look close you'll see the frame rails end about half way into the trunk. The picture in my first batch makes it look pretty solid. Reality was the 2x4 to hold the trunk open because when the deck lid went up, the quarter panels would spread open and the trunk rods would pop out of the slots! It weighed about 3 pounds when I was done cutting it apart. When the truck came to cart it to the yard the guy took back the offer of paying me $20 for a 68 GTO and made me pay HIM $20 for taking it!
