You gave Gary wood too with that video, he would like to know how you built the motor so he can get one just like it. |

I can't bite the hand that feeds me... Bruno, YOUR Ram Air IV is king! Most of the rest of you are still clowns.

I personally prefer the 455HO or a 455SD for the short stop light runs. The off the line torque from the 455HO or 455SD feels better than the 400 RAIV. Not until you get up into the higher RPMs, then the 400 RAIV really comes to life......the sound and feel of the RAIV is euphoric............"music to my ears". Ultimately RAIV 400 is king when it comes to being the halo engine for Pontiac.

Did you get invited back to that motel? Good lawd look out if you and me get together in the same place! I'll be the first to burn up a set of tires doing donuts and burn offs, just thinking about doing a burn off makes me want to... Well I can't say that in here either. |

Bruno - I'm gonna call you this week for your RAIV engine specs. I have to find and build one of these.

I had a set of a 389 670 tripower and M21; would run the tach up to 5000 and dump the clutch. Was a hell of a show, after it finally caught traction I'd burry the throttle and race through the gears.
Bruno, you don't even know. I will set a new standard for you in the hell raising department if the circumstances are right. Minus one set of tires! http://www.stevepryor.com/jm/birdburnc.mpg |

I must say Steve as well ... great job! Maybe I can find my way to Tulsa with my Goat this summer!
Yahoo maps says 13 hours and about 920 miles! Could be fun and the car would probably like to be back home ... Hmmm .... |

Dan Jensen is a Pontiac rebuilding diety imo (not to mention one of the nicest guys on the planet). dan did a 69 RA IV rebuild in 2006...NOT per nhra! i called it AMA stock rebuild that took us to 10.75 compression (vs the 11.25-+ nhra allows)...with that and no other nonsense (ie this is most defintely pure stock drag legal and then some since we DIDNT push the NHRA tolerances)..infact id love for more to do an AMA style rebuild since its much closer to factory...
future AMA drags event anyone? :-) anyhow with stock exhaust and 2.5 collectors the 69 RA IV pulled 438hp at the flywheel(5600 rpm)...max torque was 451 (@3900rpm) up next...ra 2 AMA (10.75CR) rebuild... an apples to apples ra 2 v ra 4 head to head competition...FINALLY...first on the dyno then (hopefully soon after) on the track! maybe late 07? |
