...one of my 69 Judges has a vin# of 125772...build date of 2-14

...the other 69 Judge has a vin# of 156063...build date of 2-26

Too many plants were building around the same time, I was hoping for a notation on the PHS something that would show it was a special Judge! Yes I would be looking for this kind of car.

I think one way might be to look for Judges for sale in Canada to see if you can find a nice 1B car. I assume that there were a few others since we found one. It may have taken longer to get cars to Canadian dealerships. Just my thought.

The 1B car in Canada belongs to me and I have not seen any other 1B cars up here yet.I am still hoping that my car is the first judge but would not know how to go about documenting that??

Thanks for the warm returning welcomes guys.

Was pretty cool to come back on and fall onto a car/thread like this.
Love getting the details and whatnots on these pattern/zone cars.

I like these first cars a lot. Pretty significant machines.
Everything about that carb looks right too !
Hope it pans out to be correct.

Until someone can prove one earlier, i'd say you own that namesake outright.
I seriously doubt there ever will be one earlier - to be honest.
Yours was probably built the last shift of the last day of 1B ...

Bought mine back in latter part of mid 80's.
The inside pick on the kid joke was - kid bought an orange $300 GTO with a rear spoiler and thinks its a Judge. heh heh

3 years ago i was checking out a local guys unrestored 4spd 69 Judge, and his PHS.
His turned out to be a pattern/zone car ... and 3spd stick.

Default saw it again today

I went to see the car again today to verify the numbers. It was built the 4th week of January (1D). I was wrong about the bill of sale - it sold in late March 1969.

There's no VIN on the block by the timing cover... Any of you who have baltimore early judges, do you have a VIN stamped in the traditional location down by the timing cover on the passenger side?

Also - the rear's date code doesn't seem complete - just three numbers, I think it was 356 or something. When I get home I can post a pic. Looked like a blank space on the rear where the extra data would go. Couldn't find a rear end code either - checked both the right and left rear axle tubes on the front side. Nothing. The car is clean underneath, not a lot of rust to destroy the codes - I don't think they were ever there.

Its a pontiac trans... I think the code was something like P9A19A or something like that (from memory - again - pic when I get home).

Horn and door buzzer don't work - heater fan does work. :-)

Heard it run.. its got quiet mufflers.. Runs ok, seems to be loading up, maybe some piston slap.

Mine has the VIN in the normal place. If the block is an oct/nov/dec dated block, you might keep looking for the VIN. My block/heads/intake are late Oct 68. My car came thru with a November 1968 dated 941 (normally a RAIV) distributor. It might be neat to see if this one also has one.

My axle code (XH) and rear end assembly date code are on the driver's side facing the rear of the car side by side. The XH is right side up with the assembly date upside down. The assembly date for the rear of 017 (January 17, 1969) is the latest date code on my car.

You probably know this better than I, but there is a date code on the center section for when the center section was cast and a date code on the axle tube for the assembly date of the rear end.

I look forward to seeing more pictures.

What was the number on the cobaraider ?

Block VIN - sometimes you have to scrape the whole passenger side of face to find one.
Some plants (ex. Atlanta) stamped VIN over closer to the head mating surface.
But ... all the Baltimore WS's i've seen were next to timing cover.
Always a "chance" its a transplant engine.

How were the dates lined up on block/head/intake ?

The intake and head dates look good. I'm a moron and forgot to check the block date by the distributor. D-oh!

Anyway, the sequence number for the block is on the build sheet correct? That might be the next step. I assume its under the tank.

The national judges that I have spoken with that are familar with this believe this connector is a Baltimore only connector. One of the chief judges believes it is Baltimore only. I think it was used til around March 69. Both the cables and connector are different.

I would not force it, but you can push on the metal connector to see if that will move the scoops. (It looks like it was made for that.) If someone has reached into the scoops and pushed the flappers down flat, you'll have to pull them up a little to get them to close.

I took my upper cable off and soaked it in oil in the 80's to help protect it. You can then make sure that the lower moves freely and spray it while bending it back and forth.

I would be careful with the stamped connector piece as it will be almost impossible to replace if lost. Usable replacements of the bolt/washer/nut can probably be located.

Please let me know if you buy the car.

I forgot you made that claim due to the cable connector you spotted earlier in thread.
