Default 68 Pontiac

I have a SafeGuard SpeedO unit that needs a good home.
The unit came out of a '68 GP. I took the speedo out just to save it and hopefully find someone with a '67/'68 that liked accessory options on their car.

Unit is in great condition. $70 plus shipping

PM me if interested

Default 68 loaded car

That's very kewl!!

Love to see the old cars with lots of option accessories.

Anyone else with a '67 -'68 full sizer is free to PM me about the speedo unit. It needs a good home. I have a '69 Bonneville so I can't use it. I just pulled it to save it from being destroyed.

Cool. What vert did you get? The one with the dented passenger door was in better shape.

Thumbs up Cool old collection

Yep, the one with the dents. So far so good, runs , moves, shifts, lots of options and most of the major ones work.

Alright, I got into the car a bit. The thing would need everything rebuilt. Power antenna does work, but only moves an inch. Radio is dead, as power Windows. The seat does want to move but does not. I DoD not get into the motor yet. At this time I feel I would benefit from parting it out. The trunk floor is gone as is the quarters. It does tear at me, but in reality this thing would be more money than anyone would pay for it. It is not a car that I dream of, but some of the options are. What would you all do? Pat

If you can get it to run simply, might be worth it to keep around. If the engine and transmission are both gone, I wouldn't blame you for parting it out as you can't save them all.

X2 - I would not wish anyone the trouble of trying to restore a unloved Body style that you would never recover 1/2 of the time and money put into it. My 73 4-speed Lemans Wagon falls into the same category. And with all the power options inop. It would be a hard sell to anyone.

If I can get some of the power options to work and it to run it may be for sale. Or if i can at least use the motor in my GP until the stroker is done that would be great. I will figure it out and keep everyone posted.

Well, I put a good battery in it and some of the options work now. It turns over but no spark, I will have to pick up some points and see how it runs.

That's a good start! Fingers Crossed that the engine runs well when you get the ignition sorted out!!!!

Pat,
I understand your situation. I really wish I was in a position to save it, I love those 4dr hardtops. But I agree with the majority that the cost outweighs the value. If you can get it running, it might make your decision easier.

it was destined to be a parts car from the minute i posted the link...

lots of wish full thinking but the fact is..its too ruff...it will die..and that sucks..but it will save other cars if the buyer does it right..and thats good enough for me

Post Got gas?

Watch out for the fuel system Pat! Mine had what smells like turpentine and looks like Coca Cola, nasty stuff. Tank is out now waiting for a flushing and cleaning so I'm running on a little red can. Fuel pump is leaking like a sieve too. I'd have to imagine yours has the same corn mash in it. On a good note a pretty good chunk of the build sheet was on top of the tank.

I've got a bunch of cars and trying to restore them all is just impossible
So I'm driving most of mine as they are and I'm having a blast doing so.
My 61-tempest wagon my 62-tempest coupe and soon the 57 chieften.
So get it running and have fun with it.

GT.

That would be an easy sale - it's my dream car!
