The clutch pedal on my 70 LeMans Sport convertible rests approx. 5 inches forward of the brake pedal.
I have, of course, checked the clutch linkage adjustment and it appears to be fine. The car shifts well,
(400, M20 oem style disc / plate) but the pedal rests much closer to the underside of the dash than the brake pedal.
I have seen many other 70 LeMans / GTO's where the clutch pedal rests higher than the brake pedal but not as
extreme as mine. As I said it works great mechanically, it's just a b***h getting my old worn out knee up that far
especially in traffic.
A long winded way of asking if this is normal and how to re-adjust to a lower position and maintain smooth operation.

The rubber stop is still on the bracket?
If not replace it and adjust the pedal down some.
It may not be completely releasing if it is so high. They really should be close in hight( Brake and Clutch)
