That's really cool. Looks like the kind of car you hope you could get running again without too much trouble and just drive it around for a while as-is.

He's also got a '67 Grand Prix for sale as well.

If it does have a 428, and if the 8 lugs haven't split the iron linings, those parts alone are worth more than the asking price. I agree I would get it running and drive it.

That's what I was thinking. Plus any other bits and pieces - odds and ends.

If I had a truck & trailer I'd probably be jumping on it, I'm only 5 hours away.

Pat,

That is awesome!! Congrats on what looks like a great buy!! And FWIW, I am happy it is going to a Darksider and wasn't just bought to donate the 428 to another A or F body. Cab't wait to see more pics of it.

I thought it was cool that it is in Randleman, NC, the home of my favorite racing family, the Pettys.

Just talked to the gentleman selling the cars. Two 67 convertible GPs for $3500. These are from an estate sale. I am willing to help out if anyone is interested in them. Pat.

I got the car yesterday and it is completely there other than missing parts of the map light assembly. I am torn as it does have the rust in the quarters. I would have to find door panels and seat covers. Really a loaded car. ATC, power trunk, Windows and tilt wheel. She had to be really nice in the day.

I think it would be worthy of getting running assuming the engine and transmission are good. If so, I'd just leave it as-is and drive it. I like driving the beater-looking type cars though, the ones loaded with all the options really are fun even if they look like hell. I really hope you won't part it out.

I do get the situation with quarters and door panels, not exactly easy pieces to find.

The door panels are just expensive to have done. The cost is just a killer on having them done over. I will start a new thread when I start working on it.

I am going to go to see if I can get it running and may use it as a driver. I really thought I was buying a parts car for my GPs. It really is not bad at all. I do see some small things that need to be addressed and the brakes need to be replaced. Then maybe I will be collecting parts for yet another project.

Very cool, Pat!!

I would post a parts wanted here and in Smoke Signals...someone is probably parting out a 67 or 68 4dr ht with a nice interior that (almost) nobody can use!

I have been sitting a REALLY nice '62 4dr interior for a long time that's too nice to toss...

Thanks Matt, I don't really need more encouragement to fix this car. I want to concentrate on the Grand Prix. This was just to good of a deal to pass on. Then seeing it was not as bad as the pics looked was a surprise. I will try to do some work on the long weekend ahead and figure it out. Pat
