I'd say they were Steve's.
But "Unique" made them.

Thanks Ron for posting the pictures.
Jeff the guys are correct the valve covers are from Unique.
This is the 450ci motor that was previously in my Trans Am before I built the current pump gas motor. John didn't have a motor for his Fairmont so we put mine in the car to get some use out of it and the car. The car had been sitting in the corner of the shop collecting dust for the last two years.
Eric the Fairmont has the same basic platform as a Fox body Mustang ... never can tell what the future may bring
The Fairmont was a 8-second race car using nitrous and a small block Ford motor and set up to fit into a class for true 10.5-inch tires and stock frame rails. It has a 9-inch rear end with coil over/ ladder bar suspension. The front end has a aftermarket tubular K-member and coil overs with rack & pinion steering. It was already set-up for a GM Powerglide, which we retained. We used a Indian Adventures motor plate. We could of made custom motor mounts and actually bolted it into the tubular K-member but the motor plate allows a good place to mount accessories. We bought Headman 2-inch 2nd gen Firebird race headers and modified them to fit at the shop, as an after thought it would have been real easy to make a set of custom headers using a header kit since the routing was no big deal. The oil pan is a Moroso 8-qt and no modifications were necessary.
Race weight with the Pontiac installed is about 3150 pounds... think of it as a '63 Tempest!
Last weekend we did manage a 9.94 at 134.8 mph on the motor, no nitrous. The converter was too loose and not optimum, we figured it had about 15% slip on the big end. So with the right converter installed the car should pick up some.

Sweet motor Steve! If I may ask what is the big aluminum piece that runs across the front of the block?

That's the Indian Adventures motor plate he referred to in his last post.

It replaces the engine mounts. Next time you're at a drag race, check out all of the tube chassis cars, they'll have them.

dutch injun- it's a Peterson vaccum regulator. Used inconjunction with the vaccum pump.

No 041 cam, I like a little more razzle dazzle

In the firebird I'm building it has a front and mid plate. It is not a tube chassis car.
