More results to share with the durability of the Cometic gaskets. A couple months back I lost a piston (right before Norwalk) due to bad fuel. With the motor obviously running poorly I noticed no indications that I'd hurt the Cometic gaskets. With that in mind I cleaned off the specs of molten aluminum on the one gasket - actually put them in my tub in some lukewarm soapy water, gotta hide that stuff from the wife

- and reused them when I put it back together. This past weekend I made 8 passes recording a best pass of 148mph at 3750lbs and had no issues with the gaskets sealing both compression and water. This is with a factory block and ARP head studs. I'm definitely impressed with the durability of these gaskets and thought I'd pass this on to those considering different options to better seal their cylinder pressures.
