It seems we guys with gold interiors just don't get any respect. No headliner, floor mats, correct package trays...

This is a '67 GTO. Anyone run into these issues? Particulary the headliner, do you just get a white one and have it dyed? And the repro rubber floor mats, can those be dyed as well? Seems like they would be good for a while, then due to normal use the color would wear off. I really like the look of those factory mats.

thanks!

Yep, I have the same issue. Not enough gold to make it look correct. I have a Gold on Gold but I am thinking I am going to convert to black interior.

Ran into the same problem with my 67 gto. It has a gold interior and I looked for a correct headliner for three years. I found a company that has the exact material about 3 months ago. I cant remember the name, I will get it for you when I get home. They did an awsome job.

Finally found it. SMS Auto Fabrics in portland OR. PH#503-234-1175. They are a little slow but it is worth the wait. My gold headliner was a dead on match to the original one. Sorry it took so long to find it.

That's a great tip. I did a Google search and they have a website. http://www.smsautofabrics.com/aboutsms.htm
I have the same problem with Turquoise. Ames sells some turquoise that seems a little light.

Used SMS for my 69 gold firebird. Interior parts were dead on...... No complaints at all.

Wow, thanks for the great info! I called SMS and spoke with Charlie who states he has the material in stock. $35/ yard, probably need about 4 yards he says. A local upholsterer here can send the material out and get a headliner made for about $100. So a little pricier than just buying a color like black off the shelf, but good to know it can be done correctly.

Now about those tan (gold) rubber floor mats...
