what's the best kind of oil to use in the 389? is synthetic okay? the engine got rebuilt about 7 years ago to factory spec; 5000 miles on it. i don't know much about older cars and if synthetic is a good idea at this point or at all. any input would be very helpful thanks.

I use synthetic oil in my stock 1955 Chieftain and my street/strip 1967 GTO. The only problem I have found is it will find more spots to leak because of it's composition. I can live with small leaks so it doesn't bother me. Some people cant stand any leaks at all.
