Not trying to step on any toes here but what gives with a guy saying "I run X time on all motor, no power adder" but fails to mention that he is running 13 to 1 compression or more. Hate to break it to ya, but an 8.0 to 1 motor running 15 lbs of boost has the same effective compression ratio as your 13+ to 1 motor. Not trying to take away from any accomplishments. But just because you choose to go slow running N/A, don't expect me to treat you special or hold you in any higher standing than the guy running an ATI, Vortec or Turbo running the same time. Sorry . Boosted motors are complex and require skill to tune as well, it's not easy. Just my 2 cents.

I'm not refering to NO2, someone else can post that thread. LOL.

I feel like anyone running fast, however they get there is cool. The real deal is, how fast can they go consistantly. Anyone can take a 13 second street car and spray tons of nitrous on it and make it run in the 10s. But how many times it can do it, without picking rods off the track, or changing pistons with holes in them makes the difference.

Ah... the timeless debate of N/A vs. power adder I think there are some strong feelings in this area by many.

Both approaches have their issues and challenges. I personally have great appreciation for both a well executed N/A or a power adder car.

Do it the way you want and enjoy your car. Life is short.

First time using nitrous, Norwalk 2003. Went to the semi's (6 rounds). Every round I didn't have to lift it ran between 10.30-10.32. Power adders not being consistant is a myth. If everything is set up correctly, they'll run consistently pass after pass.

The only thing inconsistent about my car is the chassis ability to handle to torque of the supercharger consistently on a lousy track prep. The mph is spot on every time, and on a track like Norwalk I'd theorize the et would be as well. My old - and slower NA motors were more et consistent only because they never threatened to turn a tire - especially at 1000ft

I think there is an arguement on both sides of the coin. I prefer the NA horsepower....for now. BUT, I'm just getting into the racing thing, and that is what I'm shooting for first. After I learn all I can about making NA HP, I will likely dabble with a power adder of some type.

It is all a preference....there are many ways to go fast and be consistent, who really cares how ya get there.

Hmmm,

13:1 with a GTO Air Cleaner/Filter is worse-off than 8:1 power-adder'd with pump gas.

OK, I'll chime in here. I always thought the use of nitrous was like cheating... until I tried it! I think the tuning aspect of power adders adds another element to the game that makes it more interesting. I've been told bracket racing & nitrous don't mix, but once this year I was able to catch a car after cutting a bad light, and squeezing at half track, getting the win.
Brunettes, redheads, blondes, they're ALL good!

HIS, Remove the air cleaner!

Eric, more like Pee'd in my coffee. LOL. Just wondering if it was just me. Guess most of those guys are refering to N02 when they say "no power adder". I like blonds, brunetts, and red heads. I'm just wondering why some people have to say " my car went X time and its NOT a Red Head.

Have been running power adders since 1980 and will till I die. LOL.

Same deal applies to wieght. Most people don't look at the whole pic.

Tell me the difference between a dude running 7.70's weight 2400lbs and a dude running 8.50's weighing 3450lbs.

Which is more impressive ?????? LOL.

If my Blonde, Redhead or Brunette was created by a bottle is she any less hot and enjoyable than your natural babe ?

...And lets not get into Dual Power Adders. I helped my buddy build his Camaro, with a Blower and Nitrous. People would give us hell. Well only the ones that would lose to us.
