I'm sure this is an easy one for most here. I crawled under my car and looked everywhere and found only brake lines. Yesterday my car started acting like it wants to stall and is driving at intermittent speeds. Starving for fuel I think. With 110K on the odometer and original filter I thnk its a safe bet. Can anyone help me find it????

by the rear driver side tire, in that location.
Is it stumbling in the mornings only?
or all the time?
remove the vac line to the fuel. pressure regualtor, and see if its leaking.
AND DONT FORGET about the plenium issue we talked about before....Just had another one today

Thanks. Found it last night. Weird thing is, is that it was on the passenger side just ahead of the tire. Everyone I asked from the dealer to the local autoparts store said it was on the drivers side. Guess I'm dylexic or hallucinating. Anyway, on and done. As for that plenium, I still cant be sure even now where its leaking at. I have just been adding about 1/2 gallon to it every 6 weeks. I already replaced a good waterpump thinking that was it. Am I living on borrowed time? My contact to get it at a dealer's discount is no longer there. Theres something towards the front and right on top of the engine that looks like it MAY have some residue coming from it but I dont know what it is.

If the plenium is leaking into the motor you will not see it......If the throttle body is leaking
you will see that near the t stat housing.
If if stumbles in the mroning and you still add coolant than the plenium is probably at fault.

Travis,
Thats the weird thing, it runs fine. Nothing but smooth idle in the morning on cold starts. It runs just a little high at first, then about 10 seconds later, slows down to its natural speed. I'm just adding coolant to it cause its disappearing.

Uh oh. Car is still wanting to stall out. Seems fine when cold and dont seem to run bad unless I'm sitting in traffic after driving for a while. Its does not have any pattern or predictable clues. Auto zone put their tester on it and it said: P0300: "Random intermittant mulitple cylinder misfire". Seems strange that it started doing this without warning though. I'm putting new plugs and wires on again tonight but have a feeling this may not be the cause. Does this sound familour to something else I should be looking at? , Like maybe a temp or MAP or MAF sensor?

a map sensor problem will not give a p0300.
USE DELCO WIRES PLEASE< AND DELCO PLUGS
Time and time again i see new autozone, napa, checker wires and they are junk.....DONT USE THEM.
LIFETIME WARRANTY is great if you dont have to replace them every year.
A dirty mass air flow maybe, but would be more pressitent, and would usually set a intermittent code for the MAF
Heres how is breaks down. In the order of common problems.
PLUG WIRES #1
Leaking fuel pressure regualtor #2
Plugged or restriced fuel injector#3
and the plenium burning throught #4

Check the coil towers for a burnt look ( black or rust colored dust.) also inspect the plugs for
carbon tracking. AND GET RID OF THE METAL sheilds on the plug boots.

Eureka!! Found the coolant leak where the throddle body connects to top of the engine! (I can't believe I missed it all this time) Will I only need a gasket kit and more coolent to repair it now? The car ran fine on the way into work today. I did put a bottle of injector cleaner in it last night just in case. Where on the coil towers should I look for the evidence of a burnt look? Is it possible that my crank trigger could be at fault too? It seems that out of the blue it start acting this way and then suddenly stop after a few miles just as soon as it started. This condition gave no warning whatsoever last week. Just started acting like the timing was off and lost power. I'll check that fuel pressure regulator too today. I will have to find out where its located first. Will I need a gauge for that? This may be a lame question after all this time, but is the plenium the humped shaped assembly atop of the engine?

Thanks,

Chas.

Yes the black plastic thing is the Plenium LOL.
on the coil towers, the terminals are sliver.
If they are black, or rust color clean them and replace the wire

Whew! That was a close one...lol! Would have been embarressing if I started going after it through my stearing column!...lol!! I also hadnt realized you were refering to the contacts for the wires until you explained it. Thought I may be in for taking off the coil packs or something. I'm used to pre module type cars I guess. What do you think about the possibility of the Crank Trigger or sensor being at fault? The car hasn't repeated the symptom since last Friday after about 100 miles. I really do need to pick up a good repair manual for this car so I can ease up pestering nice gear heads here!...lol! I called on the price for the GASKET kit I need to do this-$84.00!!!! Ouch!

Just replace the throttle body gasket
the upper plenium will not leak out. the plenium will get a hole first and leak in.
Its not the crank sensor, the car would die
