Is an aftermarket Hurst Competition Plus Shifter and linkage for a Muncie 4 speed compatable with a factory console installed in a ' 68 Firebird?

I put one in a 69 bird with no problem,has a flat stick,might need to get the hurst boot with the rec. hole.Tom

I put one in my 1969 without any problems at all, and it performes great!!
