I plan on istalling a 455 with a turbo 400 in my 65 gto.the turbo has a long tail shaft and I know I'll have to have a drive shaft made.but I have a few questions.will the turbo bolt right up to the 65 crossmember, and will the 65 transmission mount work on the turbo? does anyone have any ideas on the drive shaft?do they make a kit to hook up the orginal shifter to the 400?I'm doing a frame off,and I'm getting close to installing the motor in the frame, just wondering what else I'll need to get before I get there.

First of all you will have to move the crossmember back and drill new holes in the frame. Make sure your drive shaft angle isn't excessive. If you either have your trans shortened or buy a short shaft model a 1967 GTO, 442 or GS drive shaft will fit. You can modify your shifter to work or install a 1967 GTO shifter in your console.

When I did the TH400 conversion on my '64 GTO I had to use a '69 GP tranny dipstick and tube in order to clear the firewall. Probably the same as any '68 -'72 A-body TH400 dipstick and tube, but since all the auto '69 -'72 GPs had the TH400 I would look there first.
The B-body dipstick tube you have now with the long-tail TH400 won't fit. ------------------------------ My wife says I never listen to her, at least that's what I think she said.

If you cant find a suitable dip stick tube one of the aftermarket ones for a street rod will work well.

I have a 350 in my 64 Lemans and I used the LOKAR dip tube and dip stick. I,ve never had a problem.
