what is the easiest way to repair a tank, just a hole in the bottom.

Clean the area around the hole, rough it up a little, Get some Marine-Tex from your local boat store, it's a two part epoxy. It is similar to JB Weld. Comes in several colors it holds up to fuel. Make sure the dripping has stopped first. I have some gray if you can't find it.
