Found a 400 motor for sale...

Block code: 149369XH
# by distributor: J098

4X Heads...these are the numbers I got from them:
A2931
A2431
GM 8

I didn't see any 1H, 3H, 4H, or 7H....any help would be much appreciated, as I'm making the decision to buy or not!!

Disregard the 1 at the endof the head date...think that was an extra! So...27 views and no input yet...hmmm.

the block is october 68' and the heads are january 73'

The heads as stated above are '73 model.
Do they have press in or screw in studs?
Press in large valves they are 1H 114cc or 3H 98cc
Small valves are 4H 98cc
Screw in studs are large valve 7H 98cc

Those are approx cc's and the 1H are the 455 heads.

The 1H,etc. is stamped on the head.

Ahh ok. The Head ID number is cast into the center exhaust ports Jag. Those are I believe 1975 400 heads they are about 101 cc's if I remember correctly. Very similar in potential to a set of 6x's according to Dave at SD Performance.

They are 4X 4H small valve heads...98cc. I'm assuming these would be OK on this motor for good low end??
