I've got one in my car. Except for fitting issues, it works like a charm. No chance of shifting from 3rd to 1st or visa-versa. Moreover, if you've had to remove your neutral safety switch and / or backup light switch due to header or other issues, it's got provision for that too.

Regarding fitting issues, I wanted to retain the stock console, which made fitting the shifter a pain in the @ss. I wanted to retain the stock console because the cheap plastic console they sell with the shifter looks like crap.

I had to weld up a mounting console underneath the shifter base to raise it 1" and move it forward 1 & 1/2".

I have one, and have been fairly happy with it. I also installed it in the factory console which has caused an issue with the indicator cable binding, but other than that, it works good.

Don't forget to locktite the handle! Stupid thing keeps coming loose on me!

Dont they make one specifically meant to retain the factory console? I put one in a 71 several years back and I had no mounting problems at all.
