Do you guys know if the 403 has a provision for a Z bar? Tempted with adding a manual to the car....

Its been done. I have seen a 79 w/the 403 with a stick. The 403 crank will not take the input shaft tip of the tranny. Call Dick Miller Racing. He has a bushing and the tips. I think all the 400 stuff will work minus the flywheel. Need an olds flywheel.

Yeah I was told that earlier manual flywheel will work fine. Does the crank already come with the hole to install the bushing or does that need to be drilled out as well?

Crank will need to be drilled...but it can be done. Good luck.
