I have a beat 1978 Olds 98 with a factory Olds 350 engine that is basically trash. I have a second Pontiac 400 engine from a 68 Bonneville(only one set of motor mount holes in eash side of block). Without going too deep into my pockets financially, I would like to install the motor into the Olds. The only problem that I think that I will have is the motor mounts. Which year model mounts and for what type of car? Any other problems that I may be overlooking? Once the car is toast(3/4 of the way there already) I will take the engine/transmission out and donate the car. Time isn't the problem, but would like to keep the project under $200 if possible.

I doubt if you will find any factory mounts that will make this a 'bolt in' swap. You will probably have to fabricate something up to make the swap.

most resto/preformance vendors sell an install kit for the early blocks to the late chassis.
they aren't much money and work well. mike
