How do you tell the difference between a rally gauge under dash harness from a idiot light under dash harnes?? My car came with idiot lights and I found a set of rally gauges in a box with several under dash wiring harness's. they are pretty much all alike but two of them have wires that go to the printed circuit in different places. One has two green wires in the same socket.

Thanks for any help

Only difference is on the dash plug in cluster connector, 5 and 7 are swapped. I forgot what was what, but the tan and brown wires were different Using a small screwdriver you can make the swap on any harness to work with the rally guages as long as you install right type the water temp sender and oil pressure sender both available from our Host.

I thought this wiring harness was from a '69 Firebird idiot lights (differs from RAJ7395 drawing), compare harness ID tag to yours. This link explains the process. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...1&m=7266099811

HFR-
I checked your connector pictures verses my drawing and they match. When I made the drawing I mislabeled the LH turn signal wire as a single light blue instead of a double light blue. Other than that, the only difference is that your temperature sender wire has two dark green wires whereas mine had only one.

Wonder why?

" Other than that, the only difference is that your temperature sender wire has two dark green wires whereas mine had only one. "

DrPeP mentions this in his last sentence. That's why I brought up the fact that it differs from your drawing and to check ID tags. I owned my Firebird years ago, and this was laying around and saved when I moved, so I figured it was a Firebird wiring harness.

You guys are the best!! So based on the link the #5 slot should be Brown and the #7 slot should be tan. If thats the case then I am set, I have a harness with the above connections. If anyone needs one I have an extra rally and idiot light underdash harness. They need some work with some cut wires and the fusebox is missing some lettering and has a few cracks in them.
Ransom, one thing that I find intersting is the tag on my non rally harness is orange and has 7444 FR on it.
